Success Stories

Our work comp program has worked with many companies of various industries to take control of their worker’s compensation program and put huge sums of money back into the pocket of the business owner. One key where this has worked is the impact our program has on the experience modification factor, typically called the "MOD".

  • WCP has worked with a school that employs 400 people. The school works with exceptional children with various degrees of physical and mental challenges. Prior to our involvement, the MOD was a 1.88. But within three short years, the MOD is down to a 1.02 and continuing downwards. This client was named the program client of the year in 2005. The annual savings is in excess of $100,000.

  • WCP has worked with a large general contractor, reducing their MOD from a 1.12 to a 0.76. This savings is in the range of $100,000 annually. In addition, a correction to classification code on the audit was done, resulting in an additional savings of $82,000.

  • WCP was recently requested to review a concrete contractor’s work comp. As a result of our involvement, the account was moved to a standard carrier with a savings to the client of $148,000 annually.

  • WCP of Maryland recently won an appeal before NCCI for a party rental client that resulted in a correction to the improper application of an audit rule. The result is a reduction in premium of approximately $50,000.

  • WCP was instrumental in correcting an audit in which a carrier inappropriately applied an audit rule, which resulted in an audit correction in the amount of $52,000. In addition, a claim was inaccurately represented on the MOD work sheet and was removed, which resulted in a reduction in the MOD from a 3.0 to a 1.0.
