DEAN D'CAMERA, Founder

Dean brings a dynamic and interesting background to his clients, as a former Anne Arundel County Police Officer, who has served in the positions of patrol officer, undercover detective, child abuse detective and homicide detective.  During that time, Dean also served with the U.S. Army Reserve, The Maryland National Guard and the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company. 

Dean joined the insurance industry in 1996 as a producer with the Chesapeake Insurance group.  Over the next several years, Dean became the leading new business producer for CIG.  When CIG was sold to Sandy Spring Bank in 2001, Dean was named Vice President of the Sandy Spring Insurance Corp. and its subsidiaries, which were to include CIG.  In 2004, Dean was named President of the Insurance Corp. which eventually grew to include Wolfe & Riechelt Insurance and Neff & Associates.  Dean was responsible for the day-to-day operations of a firm with premiums in excess of $50,000,000 annually and a staff of 40 insurance professionals.

Dean has obtained the Certified Insurance Counselor Designation, as well as the Certified Work Comp Professional Designation.  Dean is an active member of the Institute of Work Comp Professionals and is a member of the prestigious Level 5 group within the institute.  Dean is currently pursuing a Certified Risk Manager Designation.

In January of 2007, Dean launched the D’Camera Group with a dream of providing a true partnership between member clients and the agency.  The evolution from an insurance agent to a true risk-management partner has been his goal, and he continues to develop the plan for his member clients.

Dean is an avid Maryland Terrapin fan, having served as President of the Maryland Gridiron Network from 1999-2006.  Dean is also very involved in the Touchdown Club of Annapolis and has served on the Board of Governors since 1998 and as the President during its 49th and 50th year of existence.  Dean has recently joined the Board of Directors for the Friends of the Stanton Center and has previously served on many other community boards.  Dean is truly committed to the community.

Dean lives in the Bay Ridge Community of Annapolis with his wife Christy and their daughter Sophia.
